NH Motor Service are proud to be able to offer class 4,5 & 7 MOT’s. Having an MOT every 12 months is mandatory, this ensures your vehicle is safe to be on the road. If you do have a failure, we are able to get your vehicle back on the road. Having a correct MOT done will help prevent issues with your vehicle, spot anything that could be wearing on your vehicle so you know to have this repaired soon, we will advise you any advisories.

CLASS 4 MOT

3-wheeled vehicles (over 450kg unladen weight)
Cars (up to 8 passenger seats)
Motor caravans
Quads (max unladen weight 400kg – for goods vehicles and max net power of 15kb)
Dual purpose vehicles
Private hire and public service vehicles (up to 8 seats)
Ambulances and taxis
Private passenger vehicles and ambulances (9-12 passenger seats)
Goods vehicles (up to 3,000kg design gross weight)

CLASS 5 MOT

Private passenger vehicles
Ambulances
Play buses
13 or more passenger seats, including community and play buses

CLASS 7 MOT

Commercial vehicles with a gross weight between 3,000kg and 3,500kg
Includes larger vans and pickup trucks

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR VEHICLE MOT SERVICE

During the MOT test, a DVSA-accredited tester will inspect your vehicle inside and out, including under the bonnet and chassis, to assess its roadworthiness.

If your vehicle passes, you’ll receive a VT20 pass certificate. If it fails, you’ll get a VT30 failure document. The test outcome depends on your vehicle’s condition that day.

Your tester will also highlight any advisories—issues to monitor or reasons for failure.
